Ocean View Tank

So 2 months ago I bought a 100g Ocean view tank from a LFS. I've only had it set-up for a month, finally got it cycled, and yesterday the glass started cracking right at the seam where the side meets.:nilly:

By the time I got home from work last night it had increased to about an 8 inch crack and you could start to feel moisture coming through. Needless to say I completely emptied the tank. I called the LFS this morning and he told me it was a Perfecto tank, I didn't believe him so I went to the store to verify the brand,(I don't trust this guy anyway) and sure enough the have one just like mine with an Ocean View tag on it.

I called Ocean View and they're gonna stand behind the tank 100% but I have to go through the LFS where I bought. So I call the LFS and explain everything to this guy and he tries to tell me they don't sell 100g Ocean View tanks for the price I paid for it. SO I tell him I went to the store and saw the one just like mine with the tags on it, and he gets all defensive and says he'll have to research it and call me back.:irked:

Why do people have to be such a-holes, not like it's coming out of his pocket!!!!

(Sorry I have no one else to vent to right now:nilly: :irked: )
 
That sucks big time if this guy gives you a hard time contact the BBB about it.

You know you don't have to deal w/ that LFS that's giving you prob's. Example according to the owner of Ocean View Aquariums (Pascagoula, MS), if you where to move, say out of state, they would still honor the warrenty, you just have to find another LFS that stocks them & your good to go. I have spoken to the owner several times & these were his exact words when I asked him a ? about the warrenty & moving out of state from where I bought it. With all your pprwrk correct there should be no prob at any LFS that stocks OVA.

I think I would def. call OVA & tell them whats going on regardless, just to let them know what 1 of they're sellers are doing, don't think they'll like hearing how 1 of their customers are being treated. I bet you would get a quick response that way also. Hope it helps. :) :) :)
 
wow, that sucks! dont know what to tell ya since the lfs wont cooperate! make this your last dealing with that store as soon as the tank is replaced! unless its the only one near you. the BBB could take months, better to stick with the staore and the manufacturer.. i wouldnt do any dealings over the phone either. i would gfo right in, keep your cool, and come to a solution with the manager. that way he cant "get back to you" or lie about not selling that brand of tank for that price when your standing in front of it.........keep us posted!!

Yea i would contact OVA and tell them what's going on. Maybe they'll stop selling their tanks to that LFS
