Also, has anyone here kept Flagtails Pro's with gar before? Is it a no-no because they will suck at the gar's slime coat?

I have a flagtail that will need an upgrade eventually and I'm wondering if its a bad combo.

i got my spotted with a clown knife some arrowanas a bircher marble goby and motoro...and housing two sturgeons for my brother no issues so far

my fl gar has been with, silver aros, jardinis, stingrays, jd, severum, pacu, peacock bass, black ghost knives, clown knife, angel fish, eels, bichirs, lima catfish, tiger shovlenose catfish, tinfoil barbs, bala sharks, chubs...a few others aswell

2 florida gar ones a foot the other is 17". they live in a community tank with a 4" ornate bichir, 8" senegal bichir, lots of 10"+ cichlids and some small 1" oscars JDs and GTs that hide in the plants. the gar do great i think its all about keeping them full i started spot feeding them big store bought shrimp from my hand and i quit finding fish missing.
its still scary when i see the ornate resting on the big gars jaws though

I got two oscars in wuth my Florida Gar, and they are very good companions.
They hunt the 180Gl together and there a no issues whatsoever.
I handfeed my gar daily to make sure he gets the food he needs, though.
