:swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear: :swear:

Anybody know if some left over Rid-Ick would help cure this?

Ive got some leftover that I might use....thou otherwise what would people suggest?

up temp and ad salt, for starters...and temp around 30º / 31º Celsius to try and be sure you kill those critters.

I've never had lices Jerry, but would always try without medicine, first..

the nodules I was talking about are a type of badly healed fin cuts ( scars? )

no scarring yet....

lice is still attched, hopefully i found it early enough that it wont scar at all...

Steer away from the Rid-Ich since I believe this is a malachite green and formalin combination that'll have little effect with argulus (fish lice). Your better bet would be Fluke Tabs since there's no malachite green or copper that may burn your loaches and irritate the wounds at the anchoring points of the parasites.
After the lice are gone, treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic, for secondary infections and keep the temp elevated to deflect a possible fungal infection. Once the fish's slime layer is restored, you can return to normal maintenance regimens again. Good luck.

Google the name Argulus for currently recommended treatments, it will also give you pics. They are quite resistant to most meds. If there are only a couple they can be physically removed with tweezers or forceps. They are not uncommon on wild caught and pond raised fish and sometimes come in on feeders.

Also look at the thread titled "cool weird thing I found", it is in the freshwater invertebrate forum.
