Odd heater

For 5$ I would'nt risk putting it in my tank. Heaters are one thing you really should'nt go cheap on it just seems to risky.

They said they bought it for $40 dollars a year and a half ago and it was running fine, it got the rust after they took it out of the tank.

yeah i wouldn't be concerned. just looked like calcium deposits or other mineral deposits from being in very hard water. i've seen similar buildup on my equipment since the tap water here has lots of minerals
