If I siphon one 5 gallon bucket of water then replacing that 5 gallons with fresh water then siphon another 5 gallons an top of the tank does that still equal a 10 gallon w/c or did siphoning after replacing the water lessen the amount changed?

Sorry if that is confusing :nilly:

No. It's also rather useless really. If you change the water then put in new, then when you take more water out your also getting some new water in there. Waste of water and time. Why not just take 5 out then another 5 then fill back up.

That equals 7.5g water change approx.

I don't think you could technically figure it as 7.5 gallons without first knowing the size of the tank the water would be dispersed into.
