well, maybe those are already captive bred? ours are wild caught. difference in there.

I have WC anaconda swamp eel from south america. They tend not to move most of the time. They are related to the asian swamp eel so care is pretty much the same. I feed mine prawn and smelt as well as live feeders and frogs. The first two months it didn't eat. Best to separate it first by itself till it learn how to accept different foods. When place straight to com tank they learn slowly on accepting food or may not eat at all. So once it learn to accept the foods being offer it will just do fine in a com tank. Also the first month in a comm tank always turn the lights off when feeding. Once settle in the comm tank it will eat even lights on.

Not sure how aggressive asian swamp eels are but my swamp eel can give a powerful bite. So watch it carefully if it can tolerate tank mates.

thanks el, very helpful info. those are awfully cheap, like 2 dollars for a kilo. not per piece as they are sold as food fish.

that is a very cool info .. may be i ll get a group again and try with them again but what is the max size they get in aquariums ????
