Wow. Those are all some pretty amazing finds. I can't say I've caught anything too strange, because if I did it would probably be in a fishtank in my living room :D.

I did see a strangely colored carp whil canoe-ing down the Monocasy here in MD. Unfortunately, these fish are very common in the river, and seeing individuals 3-4 feet long is not uncommon.
the one I saw and followed in a canoe was a dirty white with tiny fleks of orange and black. My first thought was that it was a released koi, but now I'm more convinved it just occured naturally in the river. The white beast, we affectionately named Moby Dick, was about 3 feet long. Unfortunatly, we never saw him again on our following trips:(.

Sorry. thought I'd share my fish tale.

Wow! Great to see those pics of other blue perch. Unfortunately our blue perch went into the fryer.

Now that we have a nice big pond, I will definitely be on the lookout for one again! I'm surrounded by the Great Lakes and it's now prime fishing season. ;)

just got it built and running a month ago. only 4 small koi atm while it establishes. planning natives since they are so plentiful here. it's about 2500-3000g and 3ft deep.

sidenote: while cleaning yellow perch I definitely notice some more colorful than others. The most colorful and vibrant fish always have snails, mussels, or crayfish in their bellies.
