As close to Payara as you can get without actually being a Payara... UNLESS they could be considered Payara. WHAT exactly makes a Payara a Payara?
Anyways, they have teeth that's for sure, just not the 2 trademark fangs that Payara are known for.
These things have been hanging around Shark Aquarium for quite some time now. 2 years if I'm not mistaken. Am not aware of anyone ever bringing these things in except g and he only brought in 8. I'd love to see some of the bigger ones out of this batch. I imagine my pair was the smallest of all of them.
From what info I could find which is very little, max size should be around 16 inches. Perfect for home aquarium in my opinion.
They seem pretty tough yet mellow. Not skiddish at all, and were not intimidated at all by the Dorado, but due to some size issues with the new Dorado the big ones had to be moved so I can try to catch the small shoal up to the larger guys.
Definetly Cynopotomus. I'm thinking the Argentinian species.
