Flatheads are perhaps my favorite native but it could be because they taste so damn good!

Yep, the eggs are from the Flathead Catfish (Pylodictis olivaris). My camera can't get close enough but, we can see the embryos wiggling atop their yolk sacs. These eggs should be hatching in about 4-5 days.
This weekend, we're checking a creek where blue catfish (Ictalurus furcatus - NOT channel cats) are spawning. So, I should have more eggs soon.
