oddballs and cichlids

I have a head stander in with mine. He gets ignored by them but looks really cool. I also have a school of tiger barbs despite them not being true to the region. I just needed a good dithering to bring them out and I didn't want silver dollars. The tigers actually look great in that tank, especially in contrast with the horizontal yellow and black of the head stander.

How do the barbs not get eatin or killed by the cichlids?

There Dithers/target fish probably too quick for what he has in the tank....alot of people use Barbs, Sd's, Danios, etc as Dithers

Yeah I've successfully kept schools of Schomburgkii and CLs with my large CA/ SA cichlids for extended periods of time with little to no issues at all. I think ditthers are a very effective way of keeping aggression problems under control, atleast IME.
