285byebye.jpg fragged360 (1).jpg I decided to include these pics since they, technically, are a part of the hobby.

I had nearly finished refilling this 285 (see the water line) when I heard a quick 'tik-tik' sound. Before I could even think; "OH, S......" the tank blew out. The force of the water was strong enough to move the 200+ pound hull steel plate next to the tank. I caught some of it but, most of it rushed out of the open door near the rack and watered my lawn.

This is what remains of a 360gal 8ft x 4ft reef tank after a tornado side-band lifts it up from the backyard, carries it over the pool fence, and smashes it against an old oak tree 50+ feet across the side yard. I had it on saw horses for buffing out before setting it up again for polys.

Crap that’s bad luck!

What I like about the "experienced" fish keepers, these issues are taken in stride. Really it's not if the tank of water is going to leak, the experienced folks always say "when the tank of water leaks" “when the pump fails” “when the power goes out” and so on…

Just take it all in stride. Really it's all part of this awesome hobby we share.
