Odessa Barbs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One of the doctor's office, at the hospital I work at, has an aquarium with full grown Odessas and they are beautiful fish. Apparently, these fish are a fairly rare find in my area.

I have seen them at the PetStore near me once and the lfs in the same plaza has them alot. I think they are cool looking tetras.

I certainly can't imagine them being so big, had mine a couple of months and they are the same size as small tiger barbs; we will see what happens lol

Oops. I was actually thinking of arulius barbs in my post, not odessa

The melon barbs remind me of Spanner Barbs or T-barbs, in appearance; I used to have a pair of spanner barbs, they were awesome, big bodied fish with tonnes of energy and characteristics of barbs (obviously)
