The aquatop canisters are awesome. Also gotta agree u should check out dr fosters. I just purchased a aqueon 75 400gph and I love it. Picked it up for $24 and its my favorite filter right now. Plan on getting another so the filtration for my 75 will be 2 aqueon 75's and my aquatop cf400. Enough filtration for most larger tanks. I don't trust the ebay filters too much. I have one on my 100 gl. I'll be the the first to admit that I would like stronger, but for 1/4 the price of an fx5 it's worth it. Not very strongly built, for example the valves that control in/output feel like they will break if I turn them to hard... having said all that
it keeps my water sparkling. I'm thinking of tossing the sponges and using something else just for more convenient cleaning. Every month there is a thread on fx5 problems/breakage. So every filter has its drawbacks. IMO the only holy grail of filtration is a well designed sump. Having said all that I'm pleased with mine. Great bang for Buck
