LONG POST: Here's the situation... Mako, my odoe has never eaten live food before. Recently, I rehomed his bichir tank mate to someone who has a bigger tank. The tank is planted and has driftwood so alot of hiding space. I recently bought SAE, barilius ardens and black phantom tetra. He had eaten some of the fish but has not been able to catch the remaining. So the tanks mates have learned to avoid him and are very successful at doing so. They have been in the tank for 3 weeks now. Mako on the other hand have become very picky. He'd ignore pellets, chopped shrimp, but occasionally will eat frozen krill but still not like how he used to. Any advice? He also gave up on trying to catch the fish but sometimes he would still have a wandering eye. Any suggestions?

Mako looks well fed and has probably reserves for weeks if not months. Just don't feed him for one ore two weeks and he will eat again like he did before.
Thank you. I've been putting food but then pulling them out if he doesn't eat it. We'll see if it works. All he has eaten for the past few weeks are 2 cuts of a shrimp and 2 frozen krill. So I know he is still accepting food. Just being picky I guess due to the presence of smaller fish.

Do as the others have mentioned. Try some floating carni sticks mixed with some dried krill that floats. It might help to increase its chances of getting back on a pellet. Soak with garlic as well. Probably at this full grown size doesn’t need to eat daily.
