lol, I'm just pissin' everyone off with my find

I got it at Fish Palace. I paid too much for it (it was labeled as wild caught, but I'm guessing they are all wild caught ???), but oh well. It was priced for 75 and I talked em down to 65. If the tail fin doesn't grow back all the way, then I really got ripped off.

$65 is an amazing price for these fish! I'd jump at the chance to pay that much for one even if it had NO tail! you're crazy if you think you got ripped off because you got it for a steal. These are pretty skittish fish which is surprising when you consider how aggressive they can be. They are fantastic tankmates for Bichirs and will get picked on by cichlids but have no tolerance for other characins. My two killed a GATF that was a little bit bigger than them. They are Awesome Monsters!

Thanks. Yeah, he is a little skittish, but I love watching him eat. The Argentea and GT totally ignore him.

I guess price is totally relative to availability in your area. I have read on here some people getting the same size I got for 30-40. I have never seen one around here, so it was worth it for $65.

It all depends on the fish. Every circumstance is different. I have 4 Odoes. The bigger ones are just fine with my Rhaphiodon. The smaller ones are housed with a Pink Tailed Chelceus and 2 Armatus, and previously a Rocket Gar. So that kinda disproved the "Hate other Characins" theory.

If I saw one for $65 I'de buy it. If I saw one the size of mine for $125 I'de buy it.

Really neat fish.
