When you have really hard water for some reason the ro does not lower the ph much? I have no idea why

Does peat moss or DI resin affect the RO PH very much?

I'm told peat will soften it, but not sure I'd be able to handle the whole tea color water I'd have to look at......

Not sure about the ph thing but when i ran just RO with membrane, carbon block, sediment cartridge i still had ppm near 100 and now with DI its near zero so now that i remember that I'm going to remove the DI and see if i can run my tank on just that. I only put DI because i wanted to do reef tank but it may work to my advantage if just RO produces not so low PPM. lol

You know DB you're gonna need to bring in a tanker trailer of water that is suitable to rectify things. Id assume thats just way too much though. Too bad to hear of a good ray keeper on the line between remaining or retracting from the hobby. Sorry to hear that its gotten to this.

Db you should move up here and get some detroit water. Our city is bankrupt but we still have great water lol

I know i would move if i could to get better water. Just think about how much easyier and better your life would be. The only sucky part would be moving away from friends and family

Any near by cities you could move to?

The tap water sucks all over the midwest.... lol

I'm not goi'ng to pack up and move in search for better water when I can make my own or simply catch it falling from the sky kind of like the guy over here that bred Tigers. IF it was good enough for Tigers to breed in it should be good enough to make my rays happy.

My trouble isn't fixing the problems, its pinpointing them. I guess I shouldn't speak too soon, there's always the huge hurdle of the rental house, and inability to get too crazy or permanent.

Who knows what the future will hold...... Maybe RO is what my rays will like best, maybe I'll pack up and move out west, maybe I'll fail miserably in trying to make my rays happy and rehome them all, maybe I'll continue searching for answers and finally find them and make my rays happy..... Sure wish I knew. lol
