I thought it was funny how this morning on sportscenter, they are trying to play the underdog card for the Celtics, then at the end of the show they show the polls for who fans think are gonna win the title and Detroit was in last place with 12%. :nilly:

i think that the lakers are the real underdogs when it comes down to those four teams..i hope they take that same underdog mentality..go lakers

I don't really think there is a true underdog this year, all the teams are very good, and evenly matched.

And really, if you have Kobe and Phil Jackson are you ever an underdog?

the lakers are the youngest team among the 4 only kobe and fisher can match any of the vets and starters of the 3 other teams in terms of playoff experience and as kobe should know one man cannot do it all...the bench of the lakers showed their immaturity during the jazz series by being outplayed by the jazz reserves, the bench has been key for the lakers this season and with them not playing up to par makes L.A. vulnerable, and without the bench play that makes L.A. the underdog against the proven pistons and spurs teams and the celtics in their own right have proven themselves with 2 game 7 victories..

i love the lakers, but to me they are the weakest among the 4 teams it's just the starting 4, yes 4 minus the erratic play of radmanovich, and no one else as proven in the utah series. the bench has to step it up the addition of ariza might help.

I was just poking fun at his old school methods of defense and no flash thats all. I think thats why people don't count detroit as a team that can go the distance when anyone that knows b-ball knows how fundamentaly sound they are. I consider them the spurs of the East.

While I respect the honest assesment of the homtown team, and I do it with my Piston's as well, from an outsider let me tell you that the lakers not only are capable of getting to the Finals, they can win. They have the best player in the NBA, as far as skills and determination go, not to mention he has 3 rings, they have Gasol who is an accomplished international player, and quite possibly the best coach in the history of the game.

Yeah, Flip takes a lot of heat because he hasn't won the "big" game yet, but I think he is a great coach, and it would be a mistake for the Pistons to get rid of him. But if you asked the fans around here, they'd tell you he couldn't coach a high school team.

Everybody has to get there pick's in today before the game starts, so we can see who will come out on top for predictions. Although we are missing Onion because he's in amsterdam or something....:D

I know that lucky SOB. I am going to pick Boston winning game 1 by 4 pts. 95-91 Celtics.
