what if the dude would have caught the ball? would it be all over the highlight news as a badass tackle?

in case you guys aren't sure, i'm not being sarcastic, i really wanna know
 
"norv turner winning a superbowl?"......he already has 3 rings and the chargers had a crappy offense before he got there.If anything-he's consistent,and every dog has his day. The NFC is more interesting this year.there are so many teams with potential.bucs falcons saints/packers vikes detroit/rams/cowboys redskins ...all have a shot- the afc kinda sucks these days,seems so stale.

yes it would be, but then would the hitter still have gotten flagged

or what if he caught the ball and got hit in the same exact way and lost the ball?
 
based on the rules that came out last year it still would've been hitting a defenseless reciever. not saying i agree with it, i'm just repeating their b.s. from last year as they started focusing on player's safety.

man you're smokin something. norv turner has ZERO superbowl rings as a head coach, you're counting his offensive cordinator days? those mean NOTHING. he took over san diego in 07..i'm pretty sure LT was there before that having career years, brush up on your history.

you basically have it right though (except the chargers had a great offense BEFORE he took over), norv is a brilliant offense mind, he's just NOT head coaching material. if you put up the performance he's had in NY or Boston or even dallas, he'd have been fired. he just gets a pass cuz people on the west coast aren't as fanatic about their teams as the big market and big media east coast teams. people have recently asked for tom coughlin's head and he just won a superbowl 4 years ago. wade phillips was consistent like norv is but has one bad year and got canned (didn't norv miss the playoff last year too?).

NFL owners have approved rules amendments for player safety that include eliminating a player launching himself into a defenseless opponent.

The definition of a defenseless receiver has been extended. Now, a receiver who has not had time to protect himself or has not clearly become a runner even if both feet are on the ground is considered defenseless.
 
These receiver rules are crap ! He wears pads like everyone else-not defenseless.It's just a way for the nfl to rig games,and make everything offensive.Just throw it downfield and its bound to be a penalty,but if they dont want that team to win,no call.
They move the kickoffs back to make game more exciting.now they move it up to be safer.Is a neurotic old lady running this league now? As long as they play people will get hurt.Thats why they get paid millions,and now they want unemployment?
 
btw-norv was brought in for offense.Why would they get him if their's was already good?so what they had LT-they still sucked.They've been good all around since they got him,but you may be right-he's a thinker,not a motivator.Does he really make a good head coach?
That's why I'm calling the redskins winners in the NFC east-they have the best coach.You said best-every year there's a team that comes from the back.shanny w/that snyder money.look out. mark my words!

Wow you are :duh: really? Do some research the 2006 Chargers are one of a very few offenses to score over 30 points a game on average. This is with Marty Shottenhiemer they also went 14-2 that year. This is the year before Norv Turner got there. Your statment hilighted in red is moronic at best. Along with Norv Turner who is a moron at best.
