Well, I disagree with letting the conference winners go.

There have been plenty of years until just very recently that the whole ACC was pretty much the SEC "weak opponent". I'd think two SEC top tiers would be better games and more representative of championship caliber than sending a weak conference winner.

Actually I do hear you talking up the devils......hahahaha. But you brought up a great point, you don't have a dog in the fight so let the big boys talk trash to each other. Its what sports talk is all about. Just because you attempt to save yourself by ending a rant with the SEC is good though or other conferences are just as good doesn't change the fact that you just ranted against them over and over. Its putting a bow and perfume on dog crap. Its still dog crap.

We don't need you to police the sports trash talk or determine how much spirit someone is allowed to have

I 'd tell ya where you could find a "big boy".. but it would be inapropriate for this forum but suffice to say cattle rustlers found themselves incurring the same fate

another good point...but I am of the opinion (yes EDDIE.. I KNOW everybody disagrees...)that the more conferences(regions) that are represented ,, the stronger the sport will become ,, other places WILL get better , because they can recruit 5 star guys , that normally go to power conferences MY PLAN DOES GIVE smaller CONFERENCES equal ACCESS(regardless of "strength").. THE SEC will howl(and probably get their way ,,,no I am not bitter, EDDIE) but the long term health of the sport is my goal..not identifying the best team in the sec ,,OR ANY OTHER 1 CONFERENCE.. AND then finding an opponent for them MY APOLOGY FOR ANSWERING EDDIE'S FUTURE SLAMS in my response to your post..I FIND IT A WORTHY OPPORTUNITY TO DISCUSS COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Actually, most sports benefit from having powerhouses. TV ratings and money demonstrate that when traditional powers are in command, viewership is up. Feel free to Google that.

When you have complete parity, your risk is very high as a major network. No offense, but a Baylor versus Fresno State national championship would be a TRAINWRECK for ratings.

The networks, the NCAA, and the average viewer needs big names. Even if it's "ooh SEC team from the evil empire", that is far better than two small market teams.

Spreading the talent, watering down the major teams, is a risk to the cash cow that is American Sports.

yes I KNOW YOU ARE CORRECT.. my theory is OVER THE LONG HAUL .. YOU WILL CREATE MORE OF A BASE,,,, much like college basketball has done by expanding the tournament.. my plan is counter intuitive to having good ratings every year but creating an excitement for the sport outside the south(we already have them)and giving the FRESNO'S AND BOISE'S A new audience . and a chance to become gonzaga or BUTLER:) it works with the nfl.. 50 yrs ago the nfl was a secondary sport ,,, then the merger brought in "second tier" markets , they started winning AND NOW it's the BIGGEST CASH COW in the world of sports

The NFL has something most don't.

Revenue Sharing.

Good luck with that in College ball. And sharing the last couple games for 4 or 8 teams will not make up for a season of raking in the cash.

the NFL DIDN'T HAVE REVENUE sharing back in the 60's and 70's .. that came in the 80's...they built the league , much to tv's dismay by sticking to the formula,,, the fans used to complain EVERY year that the super bowl was a letdown ... after a while that complaint disappeared , with a few exiting games being played over a short period of time, it's ok that you disagree with college f-ball being able to take advantage of the same model that worked in college b-ball AND THE NFL(REVENUE SHARING ONLY CHANGES FREE AGENCY ,,, which didn't exist when they implemented the formula... And actually there is a form of revenue sharing in col. f/b ... road / bowl games... although it doesn't trickle down much ....BIG BOWLS LIKE BIG CONFERENCES .. we are fixin' to start going round in circles here so I am unilaterally calling for mutual disarmament..lol.. peace ,,, talk to you soon I hope,,,, it's nice to have somebody on the opposite side that understands the English language
