Speaking of run game. I was watching espn and they were saying stephen Jackson is a big upgrade for ATL I think it maybe a upgrade but not a big one. If they could have kept Turner in addition to Jackson that to me would have been a big upgrade.

I caught the same episode and had the same thought. No way he's a huge upgrade at this point of his career. Where they will be different though is Jackson's ability to catch the ball (turner had 1 catch last year) and possibly team morale. It seems the last 3 years turner was an outkast and didn't get along with his teammates. In interviews no one ever seemed to have his back

Can you believe turner is healthy and unemployed right now? Can't believe he can't find a job. Even if it were just goal line and short yardage duty. Yes im aware he was terrible at those the last 2 years but with a lighter load he should be more efficient

i was a biiig mcgahee fan. wanna know the difference between your stable and mcgahee? he was PROVEN in this league. hillman and ball are just a big question mark at this point. wish they had kept him and used the other 2 to mix it up and keep all 3 fresh. But come on...this is a peyton manning lead offense, the run game being efficient won't make or break the season.

ps, ball hasn't been the same since that beat down he had administered on campus last summer. i hope he can bounce back to be the stud he use to be

I wont deny he is/was a good back. BUT the key is the WAS. Running back is a younger players game to play. Not many make it far due to the abuse. Mcgahee WAS proven but not so much anymore. Missing practices doesnt help either. I think Hillman proved he can run the ball last season. Ball may just show exactly why they drafted him. But even at that they have other guys like Anderson that have that Terel Davis run style of north south single cut plow em down. I think the run game is set. I dont think Mcgahee will be playing a whole lot longer personally. One of the older backs out there.

While I agree it is a Manning lead Offense you have no real threat with a pass game unless your can also control the ground and have a real threat of a great run game. That is what took the Denver team that won super bowls with QB John Elway, his great receivers and the incredible run game that Terel Davis and other brought during that time.

Pretty decent read on the cut of Mcgahee

I'm really skeptical of the broncos run game. I don't think they have any real threat of a great running attack and they'll probably rank in the bottom 3rd of the league. Only flaw I see and in all honesty, it doesn't really matter since they have Peyton manning (other than mcgahee, when's the last time he had a good running back? Edgerrin James?)

Heres the problem I see with the mcgahee cut. He was productive last year. Far more then hillman. So his production wasn't a thing of the past. These last few years might've been his most productive.

You have Peyton Manning, you have a limited window. Its the next 3 years. You need to go balls to the wall NOW and not worry about developing for the future. The 3 headed stable would've gave you the now factor while getting the other guys ready for the future.

We're gonna learn a lot this year about combining john fox's philosophy and Peyton Manning's career habits. Wes welker would be your ground control with short passes to keep the clock running but john fox does like an element of smash mouth football based on previous gigs.

I would find any of the current offerings to be plenty of a threat. Especially with some of the new options the offense looks to be doing. As well as the rehire of Alex Gibbs blocking coach. Id be willing to bet Denver ranks in the upper portion of the league. BUT even with a fair running game is really good, Peyton has never had a stellar running game and has always had great offense.

I guess I wouldnt call his season productive at 731 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games followed by a season ending injury.

He was in the top 3 in rushing at the point he got injured. Well over the pace for a thousand yard rushing season which is generally the milestone RBs are aiming for.

I probably over value him and you probably slightly under value him. Can we meet in the middle and say that's a good year for a Peyton manning RB in only 10 games and hope one of the new guys can surpass those totals? Id love to see Peyton have a running game. Brady finally has one again

Jags looking bad as ever, looks like Henne (one of the best back-up QB) will have the be the starter
Bills' EJ Manuel looked good

and im excited for the Lions to make some strides this season
