I think they have to if not your just throwing next season away. Your trotting out a starting five of

PG Nash
SG Meeks/Eubanks
SF Metta
PF Gasol
C Dwight (if he stays)

To me that is not going to cut it in the West with teams like Minny, Dallas, Sac most likely getting much better next year. The $$$'s and cents of it makes me thing that is the route they will go because the need to act now.

I think gasol gets either traded or amnestied, not kobe.

But still, the lakers are effed next year no matter what because they have zero depth and it'll just get worse because Jamison won't resign.

And they won't fire D'Antoni, even though his system does not fit a bunch of aging players.

The thing you guys forget is IT'S the lakers. There's always a plan in place. Always. The franchise is never down long and everything we touch eventually turns to gold (and purple). I honestly don't worry about their future.

What we've done is true domination over the years unlike the celtics who dominated an era but have not sustained it.

the commish set bad precedent nicking that trade and could've handled it differently besides straight up squashing it. He also set bad precedent fining the spurs this year for sitting players. I understand they failed to notify their opponents that they didn't make the trip but so did Miami recently. I hate stern and will be glad when he's gone period.

Looking forward to the playoffs. Still some good match ups once the game slows down and becomes more physical. Can't wait to see who's left standing

Oh and PS, the nets are the most slept on team this year. I don't give them a chance but a team that's makes that kinda improvement, in a new arena with new stars, in a new city should not have gone an entire season as the #4 seed barely being noticed. BK STAND UP

I hate stern too, we need more balance in the league, and the only way to do that is to create a hard salary cap, but that will never happen with him in charge
