Memphis knocked out the spurs last year. The problem is people don't watch sports until the championship. Whoever wins will have an additional 500k fans until next years winner.

Wasn't it 2 years ago? I been following z bo since he was in Portland. And Conley since his Ohio state days. And tayshaun prince since he was the prince of auburn hill and was a big part of 2 championships, gasol since traded from the lakers. Rudy *** was my fav though

I thought it was last year when *** was hurt. But I could be wrong. My years are starting to run together on me now that I've hit 30. Lol. Either way still essentially the same squads.

Yeah, 2 years ago. It is however not the same spurs squad

I went through the same battle in my head thinking of the match up

Parker ginobli duncan? Im not talking about roleplayers or the bench. Leadership hasn't changed. Thats what I meant by its the "same" squad. But fair enough.

Ginoboli and parker were hurt that year but these bench players/role players have grown up in SA. Duncan, Parker, ginoboli didn't even combine for 40 points in a close out game on the road last time they took the floor.

Coach pop and Hollis will have an interesting chess match. As long as Miami doesn't win it all I'm happy

Is it the spurs who has won most of their titles in odd years? The stars, planets and moons may be aligning.

In regards to the whole Knicks Warriors comparison stated earlier.

Thats the point I was trying to make. I knew the Warriors couldn't ever beat the Pacers, and since they're so similar to the Knicks, I knew they couldn't either.

Its not as if I was trying to say the Knicks could never win, and that the Warriors could. Never would happen.

I was trying to express how I knew all the Knicks flaws because I've seen them in the dubs, and thats why I was insistant on the fact that the Knicks could never win.

I'm no super Warriors homer, I expected them to lose to the Spurs, and in fact, I'm probably the most non-homer fan I know.

They just broke down the last 3 games (well and the spurs just happen to be the most fundamentally and stable team around). Curry, bogut, lee, Thompson, ezeli, and barnes all got injured this playoffs. I'm not using it as an excuse, rather its a fact.

Our tank was on empty and they took advantage of it.

Kudos to the spurs, I hope they win it all
They didn't just break down the last 3 games. Look how they went thru with this season or any season. They started as top team of the division, if not conference and end up missing playoff or barely made playoff

not exactly. I dont think we can really compare this season with any past season, as this was a franchise in turmoil that under former ownership, was all about the money, rather than winning. Things are completely different now, and completely for the better.

Their start this year was a bit of an illusion, and at their peak, they only were 4th in the WC. Plus they feasted on the Eastern Conference and thats what gave them their nice start.

They never really were in much danger to miss the playoffs, it was just the media's way of trying to get the Lakers in during their predictions to make their fans happy(ratings, Ratings, RATINGS). Other than a bad 6 game stretch, they always had a fairly comfortable position and never even fell into the 8th spot (and only barely in the 7th for a brief few days).

So yeah, I have to say this season they only broke down the last 3 games (which really was inevitable, the better and healthier team always wins)

Star players got injured, franchise turmoil... Those are facts, not excuses, right?
