Mariotta will be the next andy dalton/matt Ryan. Good enough to win with talent around him but won't elevate a team to next level. Some might call those dudes Perennial underachiever. I think it's their proper ceiling. If things break right they can even win a superbowl

As a TCU fan I'm obligated to say how dare you besmirch the "FireFrog". As a Bucs fan your analogy is so spot on to mine its Scarry. All it would take is a late 5 game hotstreak at the end of the season and Dalton has a new ring. Matt Ryan is on the downhill slope I feel.

They're not the greatest but they're not bad either. They're good QBs. I can name only a handful of QBs that are significantly better but I can name a ton that are worse.
Maybe he'll end up having some intangible that morphs him into the next echelon but if he has it, I haven't seen it here in Oregon

It's worth the risk. He's all pro, a top TE, and crazy versatile on offense. Granted he stays healthy, this is a major upgrade to our offense that we needed. Blocking can be improved through coaching
