I named most of my cats after players, although some of these names have turned out to be letdowns. Anelka, for example. When I got the cat, Anelka was burning up Eastlands ... then he moved to Turkey and now Chelski. But he's hardly my favorite player. Before him is my cat El Hadji Diouf. I even have a few Senegal & Liverpool jerseys of him! But now the cat just goes by Diouf (pronounced Jew-phhh), and El Hadji is ... banished to Blackburn. As if Bolton wasn't bad enough.
And then there is Beckham - my oldest cat. I love her, and really enjoy watching David Beckham play, but he isn't my favorite either. If I had to choose one player? Begrudgingly ... Michael Essien, although I intensely dislike Chelsea (except when they are playing ManU). The man is an engine of redoubt. I'd pay to see him play anywheres. #2? Martin Petrov, although he is a bit streaky (and injured!).
