My male normally looked like this.
After his fry started cannibalizing him, I moved him to a tank with whiet substrate, and no lighting. After a month or 2, he looked like this.
After I put him back with the female, in the normal tank, he went back to his normal color.
When the male and female were together, she looked like this.
Without the male around, she looked like this.

Duanes, would you say then that white substrate will actually bring out their pure all-white color out more?

My hait has been alone since I've had him with white PFS for substrate. He's never turned white like Duane's did.
