**Official NHL Playoffs Thread**

It's not even fun to watch a 5 on 4 the whole game. They have destroyed this league. very sad. They obviously know who they want to go to the cup, but damn, dont make it so obvious. If I were from Detroit I would be ashamed to win that way. 5 on 4 all the way to the cup? The Av's had no chance in all those 5 on 4 games either, very sad. Shame on you NHL.

Hmmm, coincidence your from Dallas? Not complaining about your power-plays vs. the Sharks? The league has nothing to do with who's going to the cup, and if you watch the game and know anything about hockey, you will see that these are the best 2 teams. I mean what a long-shot for Detroit to make it to the cup, who would have thought considering they had the best record in the league! The reason why the Wings are winning is because they have adapted to the new rules. Colorado spent 4 games taking cheap shots, and trying to lure the Wings into taking bad penalties, and the Stars are doing the same thing, but it's because they have something in common. THEY AREN"T AS GOOD AS THE RED WINGS. Thats what inferior teams do, they try to bring you to their level. So, the Wings just dont retaliate, take the power-play's and score goals. They are more concerned with winning the Cup, than putting a loser like Ribeiro in his place. Remember the league would have much rather had the Wings and the Ducks, or the Sharks than the Stars, so be careful with the accustations, you cant just apply them when your team gets beat.

I loved the game before, big goalie fan and nothing better than a 0-1 score (unless its soccer WTF is up with that - bo - ring)
but Pitts is up 3 - 1 last night with 4mins left in the game and I can't sit still in meh chair.

I never said they were as good as the Wings, dont twist my words plz. Also look how they just lost this last one, they cant win a 5-5 game, the league has changed for the worse, every one knows it, even veterans of the game themselves, people I would not argue with for sure. I could care less about the win. I am happy the Stars got this far. And BTW, that shot on Ribeiro was retaliation. They know they have all-stars why would they worry about penalties if they did retaliate? Well the proof is in the pudding. Don't be a sore winner. Every one sees and talks about how wins are given to the Wings, this is nothing new, and it's nothing to be ashamed of or to get defensive about, it's just a fact in the Hockey world. But I do understand if you're ashamed of it. Sorry you win that way. But dont take it out on us. We are not the league and we don't work for them either.

See the problem is, that the other teams cannot keep up with the Wings, so they blame it on the "league". Did you watch the last game? The goal was taken away from Holmstrom based on reputation and not the actual play. He did not interfere with the goalie, nor touch the crease. This goal should have been allowed. then later when basically the same type of play happened but this time with a Star, and the goal is allowed. If you want to point fingers at the league, make sure you do it when it happens with your team. Like, I don't know, maybe when the league doesn't want a sweep so one of it's teams doesn't look so bad (especially the one who beat it's defending Stanley Cup Champs) so a couple dicey calls happen to go their way.....

It's just classic hating on the team that better than yours. Instead of saying, yeah they are just better, they come up with crazy excuses as to why they lose. I mean, saying they cant win a 5-5 game? I assume your talking about the Wings who won 9 straight games in the playoffs?
What's happening is they are dominating your team because they are inferior. And they are doing it without their best performer in the playoffs so far. And the series would have been over last night, if the Stars weren't on the receiving end of the ref's favoritism.

Refs favoritism??? you cant say dont blame the league for us winning and then say we only lost cuz of the league, thats a double standard the wings lost last night because dallas came up with the game of their lives, Turcos 33 saves are the best he's put up against Detriot this season. And the few chances they got against Osgood they made count this time around. Enjoy the game for what it is and I understand people making excuses for their teams losing no one likes to see their team lose, unfortunatly I'm a Kings fan so I just got used to it now but Detriot will most likely close the show at home they look unstopable rigth now. It will look to be a good finals with Detriot and Pitt. most asuredly.

They win because they are better. They have been all year, all playoffs, and really for the last 15 years, so it's silly to think that level of dominance is from a consistent illegal effort from the league.

you got me confused with fishbutt, I never seid that any team won or lost due to the ref's influence. I completly agree with your last statement and was just pointing out that you used the same excuse for loosing as fishbutt did, but you cleared that up here so thats ok.

Ok, my bad then.
Unfortunately these are the kinds of things that holds this league back. It really upsets me that they can't seem to get out of their own way sometimes, and it makes the sport (as oppopsed to the league) look silly.
