It was nice out the other day so I finally split my banana plant.
Mama plant
Here you can see the babies all around the base. There aren’t as many roots as I was expecting. I figured it was probably root bound in that small pot, but it wasn’t. I upgraded it’s pot anyway though.
I got five babies off it. I potted the three and the smaller two are going in tanks to see how they do with their roots in water.

No idea yet. This is going on its second year so it hasn’t been mature enough to produce yet. I hope I’ll make it happy enough to make some bananas in the future.
Thanks I love them.This is the best they've looked in years thanks to the extended warm weather we have been having.Past springs have been bait and switch with warm enough temps to bring up the flowers and then it would get cold shortly after and kill them off.
Order yourself a few bulbs,I may get a few more.
I’ll have to look through some of my garden magazines for those. I get bombarded with them and keep throwing most of them out, but I have found some bare spots in some of my gardens that need filling. Haha.
They'd be great.I used to get tons of gardening catalogs in the mail but most of them have stopped.
