I'm currently divemaster but rescue is by far the most useful course I've taken by far. Thinking about doing a tri-mix cert and trying 150+ depth. It's funny I have my gas blender (to make tri-mix) but not the certification to use it.

Wish I got into diving when I was your age. You should get your divemaster then go somewhere like Thailand for the IDC.

I'm planning for this to be my retirement job :-D

Cool! I'd be a divemaster by now but I'm to young sadly. This year is the first time I can get rescue certed ( I'm AOW now) so I'm going to get that cert I'm august then divemaster when I'm 18 and everything else I can get between now and then as well :).

Wish this could be my regular job :D
 
It can be. I have a friend on a cruise ship instructing scuba in the Caribbean right now!

Guess so, just need money for my tanks :). Although oddly I prefer local waters as colder, lower vis, and as others state "less exciting" as they are.
 
Very nice! It is really cool to dive local spots like that - every time you drive by you get the feeling that you know the place better than most people....
 
Anyone else been diving lately? I'm heading up next weekend to my local quarry again, with a camera this time so you guys can see that vicious crappie :)
 
Was up today for a few hours and did two one-hour dives. Vis was crap for the most part but from 15 feet out to about 30 feet from the access point. Dive one was decent and saw a few but dive two was far better. On dive two we saw tons of fish such as black crappie, bluegill, LMBs. The crappie population was really been exploding over the last two years (which is good since there used to be almost none). Snorkelled for half an hour afterwards and discovers two new species I've never seen in the quarry before today: Pumpkinseed and Brown Bullhead. As soon as I found the cat I dove and got tangled in weeds just to get a positive ID on which species it was :), I suspected channel at first but then saw mottling patterns and a squared of tail with all black/grey barbels so it's definitely a brownie. Sadly no pics again since my camera is taking FOREVER to come since it was backordered but I never thought it would take this long.
 
Bump for the need for more divers!

Perfect time to get certified folks, water is warming up, fish are getting more active! If anyone else is interested in getting certed I could recommend a few good places around me.
 
Hey,that's kind of a big deal for one of our MFK brethren to be on a hobby related tv show...I think so anyways and I'll be tuning in.What's the show by the way?
