Mostly speculation but there have been talks in the past. With things like episode 200 and 201, I could see why they would not want to continue. Must be a pain to work with Comedy Central.

i don't know what you guys are talking, I LOVED wednesdays night episode. i missed it because of work but stayed up to catch the rerun at midnight.
i think it hit home a lil bit because this website is full of cynical yayholes
As far as being long running, it's been a long time but they only do 14-20 twenty two minutes episode a years, it's not like they're the simpsons

I never said I didn't like it, I actually like the episode. I hate all this tween bull thats on the tv and everywhere else, and the cynicism was great. I just hope they are not forshadowing whats to come.
Then they first started they were using construction paper which is more of a pain than the traditional methods back then. Now its all done on computer but they have a 7 week to do it, most of the time the episode is not finished until shortly before it airs. Thats a lot of pressure.
yeah but if i recall right from listening to commentary on dvds (yeah, i'm that big of a southpark nerd), finishing last minute is done on purpose because matt and trey like to stay tuned into current events and adjust accordingly.
the thought of them ever calling it quits makes me sad. i'd honestly rather another writing team took over and keep them around then it got put on the shelf
Still it must be very stressful to do. If Matt and Trey quit I would rather it end then continue on. They do majority of the voices, so that would also mean they would need someone else to come in for the voices as well. I just hope they continue on forever..........

Did you know Trey Parkers parents and sister share the same names as Stans parents and sister. Matt Stone was raised Jewish and his parents share the same name as Kyles parents.
