Breeders who breed them? How else can I answer that? People breed Black Belts(vieja maculicauda) and Trimacs together(for example) and the result is a hybrid vieja...

i dont see any Vieja resemblance in any parrots. Maybe it's someone spreading wrong rumors through their own assumption.
Yeah Vieja genes can be in some KAMFAS. But those petsmart kfs dont have vieja in them. Just assumptions as the usual in fh/hybrid hobby.

Theres no disputing the Amphilophus end of it. You see Vieja in the eyes, tail, and more so before they peel to orange/yellow. Every so often you see them sporting the classic white/blue/green eyes you see on Vieja. Before they peel/fade they typically have the Vieja black spots you see from the caudal eye to half body length.
