my mate has got a new tank, a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft.

he was gonna get his stock this weekend. i was thinking he was gonna get a varitety of cichlids.

when i phoned him turns out he got a baby RTC and a baby red bellied pacu!!!!

i laughed and said you'll have to upgrade soon.

he said he wasnt planning on upgrading.

what do you guys think his experiences will be? anyone everv had similar stock in a similar tank>?

He'll get to enjoy one year of the fish, then it will become big, cramped, and the tank water will become extremely foul and contaminated.

maybe i could convince him to just keep one, i assume the rtc would be the best out of the two?

heres a RTC and some pacu in a 1000G at my LFS the RTC is 4' and the pacu's are all very large bigger than a basketball well not as fat but you know what im sayin! just show him these pics..

could he get away with just one of them? he wont get rid of them both and i worried that if i dont managed to make him get rid of 1, he'll just end up keeping both....

he would get by with the pacu's longest i would say by far!!!

this has got me thinking, is it possible to buy a tank of the same size, put either one in as a juvinile and let them grow un till it becomes cramped and then sell the fish?

the reason being is to either make money or to at least make most of the money you've spent of food back....

what are the baby and large size price for these fish?

i'd imagine the pacu would be cheaper to feed due to them eating vegetables....

simply sell them both and tell your friend to learn a little b4 being dumb and buying random fish he cant house
