I havent tested the water in a while, but it should be perfect... weekly 50% water changes and its home to (2) 3" Peacock bass, (1) 4" Juruense, (1) 4" Bristlenose pleco and the hifin... the hifin is only about 4"... oh, all of them are in a 55g planted tank filtered by a cascade 1000.
Lesson learned- I think i would've died had it been the Juru that jumped out...
demjor19;1545132; said:unfortunately we all learn these crappy lessons at some point in time. a few months ago i had one of my florida/spotted gar jump out of the tank in the middle of the night. i found the fish at 6 in the morning while getting around for work. after a few days of careful tank upkeep and adding salt the gar made a full recovery. just keep an eye on him and as stated above...keep that water pristine. that will be of the utmost importance.

I had an oscar jump out of a QT tank and I tried to keep him alive, but he was too far gone... I kept him alive for a little while by putting a powerhead infront of him... By morning he was gone. The tank was actually a kiddie pool with wood boards around the edges, but he still managed to get over.
