Oh no dead tem....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry for your loss:( How big was it? I know that small Pbass are hard to keep sometimes.

It was the medium one about 2". Im really gutted. cichla arent easy to get over here. we have another 2 tems in the shop. But were selling those.

Hopfully the others should be ok. Im just suprised as they were doing so well. As long as i can get the biggest one to a good size and live ill be happy. Gonna try my best with them.

check your water parameters bruce!!!

Sorry for your loss, the worse ones are the ones for seemingly no reason

Things are fine, nitrates a little high but ive increased filteration and gonna do some more W/C's.

What im wondering is was it stress related? Ive seen the dead one and the largest squabble quite a bit. I now have one at around 2" and the biggest which is 3" these two are fine. Im wondering if its dominance realted. We had the same sort of situation happen in the shop, we had a trio left one at 2" one around 2.5" and one at 3". The medium one died and the other 2 are fine. I wonder if it was just stressed out and died I know young cichla are weak.
It could have been my adonis plecos that exposed the stomach.

sorry about your loss Bruce.. :(

Sorry brucey, I heard of what you are talking about "were a threadlike think sticking out of the anus"....you might wanna do a search and probably with difference search words, but good luck bro

never heard of little tems kill each other.
could be a tankmate, not another cichla, that killed him.
thats my best bet if it wasnt the water.
sorry for your loss bruce. :(
