Oh no dead tem....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry for your loss.

I know where you comin from mate, the picture is not the best but it shows two dead Tems that died one day after purchase due to having white spot.
In Australia Tems are as rare as hen teeth and cost an arm and a leg so I took them back to the my LFS and had them replaced.
My LFS understand that I am an experienced fish keeper who has kept many different types of fish and I was quite upset because I am a very good customer also.
To cut a long story short small fish (1-2inches) can be hard to keep and their mortality rate can be high.
My replacement fish are doing well and are eating and growing but you can never be sure.
Keep your temp high, do small water changes often, and monitor their well being closely.

It sure does mate I hate when my fish die but Meng the owner of my LFS had the same problem with a few of the fish he sold me dying also so he knew I was for real when I rang to tell him the news asking what he could do for me.
I have never bought them so small but as with most fish as the inches increases so does the price especially with hard to find species.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for my trip to France that all goes smoothy for the three weeks I am away. The little guys are going to the LFS so they can be fed three square meals while I am gone.
My three larger Tems that are 4-5inches are staying put though as they are doing very well.
