In the last 4-5 yrs the line I have come to know best and use all the time both in fresh and in saltwater is what my friends and I have come to call "OH NO POWER PRO" on every hook up you all but hear the fish scream "Oh No Power Pro". My self personally I have caught fish of all sizes in freshwater upto a 12.2 lbs Lrg Mouth Bass. Regardless of what type of lure I'm using.

In saltwater fishing med-lite tackle the only fish in recent memory to brake a rod on me, still was landed after the rod snapped and the line held. Berkely's Power Pro is all I use now. Then last year I met a young guy that fished the waters around NYC for Stripe Bass, the only thing loaded on his reels was 100lbs Power Pro. At first I thought that this kid was nuts until I saw a video he made of a catch he said was a 5-6' Tiger Shark. Knowing that was impossible I asked if he had a photo of the Shark that hit his line back in Sept of 2005. I originally thought that he caught a large sand shark and didn't know what it was because he kept saying it was a Tiger Shark, and described the Shark as having a pointed snout. After viewing the video I told him what he had landed back then was in fact a Mako.

Where ever we go fishing and he get stuck in the rocks or whatever he is normally able to pull or work his line and riggs free. I have even seen where he has pulled his Blackfish hooks straight while freeing his riggs. This year up north I have changed my lines too 40lbs Power Pro, because I don't wish to destroy my expensive Bait Runnners Reels on a hook up on 100lbs test that still couldn't stop. Last year Sept of 2006 I landed a 40+ inch Stripe Bass on 25lbs mono and just as I got him within gaffing range he snapped the line, but the gaff was set and the fish was mine. This year all Reels have "OH NO POWER PRO" on them. :headbang2

As it happens i use it for my pike fishing and my long range carp fishing this year i have been using the red

works well i use 50lb has the same diametre as 12lb mono its a good price and i have landed carp up to 40lb on it cats to 30lb and a few pike i love the stuff.

Power Pro has a great rep in MN, although I haven't tried it. I have been using Spiderwire Stealth, but will give this a try next time I respool.

Its the only thing on any of my reels. Easy to tie knots, smaller diameter then mono, and no stretch so you can feel everything.

At first i was kindda skeptical about its because its not clear and its a little pricey. But once i tried it i put it on all my reels.(hooked and landed an 11lb bonefish on my ultralite w/ 10lb powerpro) I can cast 50-65lb power pro about 60-70 yards with my 12' surf rod instead of around 45 with mono. I haven't noticed any drop in the strikes i get either. I love powerpro and ill never go back to mono(still using mono and fluorocarbon leaders though).

But i wear a casting glove sometimes because ive gotten really bad cuts from messing up a cast.

"Oh No" Power Pro, is simply the best line I have ever used. My fishing bud in Florida says he prefers to still use mono when swimming worms or when he uses the banjo minnow. But for me I only use Oh No POWER PRO whenever we go freshwater fishing, I can feel every little tap, or bump as I crawl a worm across the bottom. And I have pulled Lg. Mouth Bass upto 12+ lbs through all sort of muck.

Yeah for me I sometimes get either lazy or just one topwater lure is banging and I have fished for 6-8 hours on the same knot. GREAT STUFF.... The only time I ever ad problems with Power Pro is when you get hit popping through some weeds with a frog or something and you get nailed by a gator. I gotta cut the line as fast as possible so as not to loose my rod or snap the tip.

Next time I'll post some of my pix of my OH NO POWER PRO fish. Plz feel free to also post a pic or three of your power pro catches.

Those are some beautiful catches. Wow some really super size Carps there. What do you do with them?, after catching, release after photo?, take home and add to your own pond or tank?, or eat?

What type Sticks you using for those big boys? and whats the action on them.
Like I use Medium Action 10' Uglies with 40lbs Power Pro on Shimono Baitrunner Reel, 1-red & 1-green for all my Striper Fishing and 9' Ugly with Penn Reel with 65lbs Power Pro green for Black Fishing. In Freshwater I use Light/Meduim Action 6'-7' sticks, but not Ulgy sticks.

In Europe, carp fishing is a well established and expanding sport where catching carp is by far the most popular branch of freshwater fishing by miles. Since the 1940's, English carp fishing specialists started to develop a huge array of rods, reels, tactics and baits. i Use 3lb test curve hand made rods and the reels shown in the picture with the power pro on are Daiwa infinity x br 5500 a large carp is worth a lot of money here so we take a pic and put them back for others to enjoy.
