In Europe, carp fishing is a well established and expanding sport where catching carp is by far the most popular branch of freshwater fishing by miles. Since the 1940's, English carp fishing specialists started to develop a huge array of rods, reels, tactics and baits. i Use 3lb test curve hand made rods and the reels shown in the picture with the power pro on are Daiwa infinity x br 5500 a large carp is worth a lot of money here so we take a pic and put them back for others to enjoy.

You say a large carp is worth alot of money, can you explain? If your only taking pics and throwing them back where does the money part come in to play?

:DPeople will pay a lot of money to fish a lake with large fish in a 30lb + king carp is a trophy fish in the UK. and bigger than that is  so we joint lakes that can cost £1000 for a years membership a 30lb + fish could be worth £5000 to the owner of that lake.

Even here in the USA there are many places that are catch and release only for trout that have very valuble fisheries, bringing in millions of dollars per year to the local economies.

Ok I understand now, I don't fish anywhere where I can't keep the fish if I wanted too, that is.

I dont like power pro at all. I run suffix on everything I own. There braid till to icefishing line. I love it all

Might give it a try. Been using Stren Super Braid 20lb test 4lb mono diameter with good results. Great casting with a weightless, weedless 5" senko.
Hard at first to get used to the whine coming through the guides with a fish on, but like it so far.

Went fishing with a few friends the other night, one of the guys is the guy I fish with regularly and he is always arguing with me about Mono isthe only line for him. Well the other night we went out in the tail end of a Nor'Easter. 12 Minutes after hitting the Beach I landed a 24inch Striper, then a few other odd ball fish come up. My buddy brought these 2 other guys with us, giving them lessons on fishing, trying to get other people into the hobby/sport. Then one of the newbies catches a 18 inch Striper.

Then my buddy rod takes a hop and a thump, before he can get over to his vertically spiked rod it gets slammed, he finally gets the rod out of the spike and sets the hook. And he's on, 10 minutes go by a still no sign of the fish, he's pumping his rod and reeling in and line is still peeling off. I yell stop reeling and just hold on and fight the fish, don't worry about I got this bad boy he says. And he tightens down on his drag, dude don't do that I yell, don't worry bout it man I got 30lbs test on this, I'll rip this fish right out the water on its next pass. Then it happend - #@^*%, dam fish cut my line, bit right through the dam line! I don't think so dude, I think it broke you off, you had yoour drag set too tight. No I didn't look I can pull the line out from the reel with my hand, it bit through it.:popcorn::popcorn:

And as we begun the arguement my rod moved strangely in the spike. I lifted the rod and waited. My friend yells, you didn't get a hit, it's just the wind out here, didn't you see how much my rod bent when I got the hit. Still holding my rod, I told him look at your reel you lost way too much line for it to have been cut off never the hook. Then my Baitrunner start putting out line at a steady pace. Let me quess, thats the wind too right. I dis-engage the Baitrunning feature and set the hook. My 10' med Ulgy arches and my drag runs, I reel in 10, 15, even 25 feet and the drag peels it back out. My buddy yells out tighten down your drag, I yell its already at a 17lbs pull rate, plus I don't wanna horse the fish I wanna enjoy the fight. Your gonna loose it if you don't, I think not, I say, this is a good size fish I can feel that but it aint going to spool 300 yrds of Power Pro. Trust me your going to loose the fish if you don't start locking down your drag, what your afraid of breaking your spuer strong Power Pro. Ok I said if it will shut you up so I can enjoy my catch, so I added 3 more clicks to my drag and 18 minutes later, I had a Beautiful 40 inch 44lbs Striper laying on the beach.:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2Power Pro is the way to go!

Needless to say my friend is truely pissed.
