My mom just bought (and set up) my 125-gal (72x18x22) from me to replace her 55-gal and we're trying to find some unique but findable schooling fish to fill the top/middle. They have to be able to stay in a 125 for life. Current inhabitants include: 7" female Jack Dempsey, 6" P. acei, 3.5" Uro (will be removed when it outgrows the tank or starts to beat up others), 4.5" Green Severum, 2" Black skirt tetra (yuck!: was a rescue), (2) 2.5-3" spotted raphaels (we thought one died but it showed up after at least 6 months of never seeing it), 4" "Zebra" pleco (I have no idea what it is, but it's def not a zebra). I'm going to grow up a sen for it, too. Any suggestions? I'm thinking some sort of tetra or barb. My suggestion was giant danios, but she doesn't like them (I know they're not really unique, though).

Just for the heck of it, does anyone have any other suggestions to add (besides dithers)?

thx

Vote #4 for SD's.....

But if she doesn't want a silver coloured fish, arulius barbs are nice. I have them in my 90gal with severum etc. and they are great. They usually swim in the upper third of the tank as well.

Burt :)

If you think the SD's will be boring could go with red hooks for a bit more color.

im in aww of people who can get such a large community of fish in with large aggresives.... they jd and texas dont chase anything??? i tryed a green terror with a dempsey before and that was it for me with species mix... im not into trail mix tanks anyways but im with everyone else silverd's are nice .....
