Well I just got of of the phone with the store that ordered my bichirs. They're in! :headbang2

I asked the size, in a somewhat nervous tone, hoping that they weren't too big. She said they were about 3.5"... PERFECT.

I payed $10 a piece for them, so I thought they might be on the "large" side, but I am very happy to hear they are quite small.

For those who don't already know I ordered 3 Sens to put in my 40Breeder (with 3" Severum, and 6" BGK) temporarily until I find a nice deal on Craigslist for another 40g or hopefully a 55g. I was a bit anxious when I hung up from ordering them last week thinking "what the h*** did I just get myself into?" :grinno:

I feel better now, and I know I have plenty of time to find another tank for them.

I will definately keep this thread updated. :naughty:

Cool, you're gonna love them. I see the little ones for sale all the time and I'm always scared to buy one at that size...I worry about them getting enough food, jumping out, etc etc.

Looking forward to pics...

congrats! They will become your favorite fish, trust me :D Be sure to post pics ASAP

Don't be scared off. I got my regular sen at just under 2". Right off the bat he was even more of a pig and even more personable than my 4"+ albino. I really enjoyed raising him up from a tiny baby, and imo theres a certain satisfaction in it that cannot be matched by buying an impressive adult. So long as you have a safe growout and some patience, I'd highly recommend it

Horrible pic for reference...

Apologies to the OP, I don't mean to threadjack

I kinda like the idea of buying them small and raising them until they get big. Gives you a different feeling of pride and achievement mixed together you know. :) nice pickup man! post some pics soon!

Wow stump they look absolutely awesome in your tank :D
Gonna have 2 be getting some for myself! :naughty:

Sweetness! Congrats stump, sens look best in trios IMO :D

Thanks guys. :)

I've not even had them 24hrs yet, but I already like them a lot. They add something to the tank that no other fish could IMO... I'm pretty happy with them, and they all seem to be adjusting quite well.
