My house
alright so today i noticed that my 2 new pacu have ich. i didnt have salt hady and i couldnt get a ride to go get some. so i used this stuff call QuICK Cure. i bought it a while back when i first started into this hobby but havnt used it much. It says to use a drop per gallon. I have heard not to use this but it was my only option. Should i raise the temp up or does that only have effect when u add salt? input would be great!

Do you have table salt at home? Use it by dosing a tablespoon per 5g. Raise temperature to 84-86 degrees Fahrenheit.

i do have table salt but i heard that horrible for your fish? im not saying i dont beleive you, but i would rather be save than sorry. hope you dont take that offensively. but anyway, should i still raise the temp even without the salt?

Raising temperature is not sufficient. Use salt or meds to destroy the ich. And it is only a myth that table salt can kill your fish. The iodine concentration is hardly an issue.

alright thanks. u seem to know more than me so ill try the table salt. but if all my fish die, im blaming it on you.lol.

yeah i would of if i had the saly to do it. thats usually what i do. but this time it wasnt an option

Well I used it once on my pictus and it got rid of it within a week. but it does stain which didn't happen to me.

albyoscar how did you stain your silicone?

Ive never used meds or salt to get rid of ich. Ive successfully gotten rid of it by turning the temp to 82-86 and increasing aeration. You can either lower the water level or add an air stone. it will help in two ways, it adds extra o2 and keeps the ich from encysting after it leaves the fish. Salt and meds wont do anything while it is still attached to the fish.
