Ive never used meds or salt to get rid of ich. Ive successfully gotten rid of it by turning the temp to 82-86 and increasing aeration. You can either lower the water level or add an air stone. it will help in two ways, it adds extra o2 and keeps the ich from encysting after it leaves the fish. Salt and meds wont do anything while it is still attached to the fish.
