are you running a nano skimmer?? Did you buy the tank as a nano kit or are you building it up?? LR and LS is the easiest way to cycle a tank. What i like to do is let the rock sit out for a little while to cause a little die off and then stick it back in the tank. This is a for sure way to cycle a tank without the life of a fish.
The reason i asked if you bought a nano kit is because of the type of filter. most come with a mini w/d but some use floss. if your using floss you need to make sure you change that often. Otherwise say hello to nitrates. Are you planning on corals? if so what kind of lights are you using.
