oil in tank ???

Ok, that clears it up. If it is still full, put some dish soap in it and let it set for a while (an hour or so). Then drain it, wipe it down with paper towels, and then rinse it. During the rinse, make sure there isn't any more residue. If there is, go nuts with the dish soap around the silicone and tank lid.
 
I agree on brake fluid cleaning up almost anything it dries super fast though because of the alcohol in it, but I wouldn't recommend using it on a tank.
 
Not brake fluid, brake cleaner.

It does evaporate quickly and leaves no residue or oil behind, thats why we use it to degrease brake parts.

I'd be more concerned what it does to the silicone.

I'll second the dawn dish soap idea.
