Think of it this way, no one *****es when an importer brings in a fish from south america and charges you 3x what he paid. A fish is a good just like oil and business is business.

IM sorry but there is a huge difference between fish and oil unlike oil the world will not go into chaos if no more fish are brought to the masses. the demand for oil is not a demand it is a neccasity for scoiety.

And bush is getting richer by his connections with the oil tycoons that sell us our oil or something along those lines it was explained to me but i forgot most of the details

It's all about demand my friend. It's a limited resource. They want it, we want it. China's oil dependence has doubled in the last few years. More people over there can afford cars now so the demand is only going to go up.

Umm very simple. Oil is a global good with a finite supply. An increased demand in one part of the world will descrease supply overall causing an increase in price.

I didnt understand it since i was under the assumption that America had the largest oil demand but. but now that India and china are becoming world powers it makse alot of sense

OPEC is doing what they can to cash-in because they know within the next 10-20 years their "precious" commodity will be both nearly depleted and replaced by alternative fuels.

If that was the case then wouldnt that mean that oil companies could sell us gas for what ever they want to charge? After all its a neccasity right?

You see, oil is simply a product that is in HIGH demand. One day we will find a better alternative to oil. When that day comes the same people are going to be *****ing because the companies that supply that particular product are making huge profits.

Can some one show me how GWB is getting richer?

I hate paying $3.50 a gallon of regular as much as yall, but the same ole blame GWB cause he is doing it for greed BS is getting old! I mean hell, if we invaded Iraq for oil then why the hell is the price going up not down?

Still, compared to other things like prescription drugs (I used this example as I price them and see the sometimes 10,000% mark up providers charge) the markup on gas is REALLY small. I whole heartily believe in captalisim and the fact market determines price and I would strongly oppose any govt that tries to fix prices.

If you look at the countries that are opec members, You will find that they are all human rights abusers. Also most of them are not fond of the US but they do like our money. Until 1952 saudi arabia was one of the poorest nations in the world. As for Bush to blame for high oil prices thats bullsh**t blame the high prices for oil here in The US on enviromentalist, Unrefined oil is the problem, we need more places to refine oil. Old army bases was proposed by the hated bush people but environmentalist keep that from happening. The sword has a double edge.
