ok got pics up Golden Emperor :)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for all the comments, I can't really say what he looked like as a juvie, cause I got him how he is now, but my cousin told me he wasn't cheap, but then again no flowerhorns are in australia, IMO (talking about nice ones). All i know is he was sold as golden emperor, i'd understand if he was JK though.

Uhm, again with the eye, yeah he always did have protruding eyes, but i just feel like it popped out even more, and looks swollen, I'm hoping its improving, But does anyone know if this is life threatening? Cause if so i'm contemplating if i should separate him temporarily.

That's a JK alright. There is no such thing as a Golden Emperor, it's just another term of fancy names to get those fish to be sold. Don't be fooled by those fancy names. I learned my lesson. :D

Awesome, thanks guys, JK he is then thanks for showing me that thread, I always thought he was a JK but my cousin kept forcing the whole golden emperor idea on me so it stuck. Thanks :)

And cichlid fiend, your one is very very nice, how did you get his head to pop out as much as yours does, I thought most of these strains don't get much of a head, and your one is really fat to, very very nice!

BTW, Does anyone have any ideas of how I can encourage him to eat... its been so long... He's not as thick as he was when I got him.. I'm worried...

Also, aznboy lol, I won't be selling this one, has sentimental value. lol If you ever look on Australian Pet Link, he was up for sale for a little while, going for cheap.. was tring a quick sale, but they changed their minds cause of how long they'd had him.. hence he landing in my lap.. :P

you might want to look into the adding salt thing. usually when things are swollen or filled with fluids salt will make it worse.

If I were you id do 50% water changes every second day till it looks like the worse has passed. Maybe bumping the water temp up will encourage his eye to heal quicker aswell as his appitite.

Damn cool pickup though :D Good luck with the eye, did it happen during being moved from friends tank to yours?

Uhm, well i ended up separating him, (temporarily) His eye is getting better, the cloudiness is clearing up, i think i'll do the water changes as you suggested Tilapia-mariae.

I did up the temperature, but I also continued with salt. so i don't know if that helped necessarily, but i feel like hes getting better. But still not eating. :(

It didn't quite happen straight after the move, the eye flared up like over a week after the move, and he was doing quite well, his color was great, BUT no eating, then the eye happened... :(

THank you for all the advice and comments everyone :)
