its not a true red devil its lips are way too small, but its definitely mostly red devil and its a completely normal color change thats happening. Nearly all RD look gray and barred until maturity, then they go through yellows, reds, oranges, spots, bars until they reach their stable coloring.

this website is a good tool to show if a fish is more midas or red devil.

once you see how big a true red devils lips are when they are younger it is easy to tell if its more red devil or midas.

The second pic should have been the first. The silver fish in the second pic is a baby rd and the first pic is the middle of the mollting process that every rd goes through when changing from silver to red they go all black and blotchy for a month they are the same fish both are rd.
