I would love to get going in this but gotta find a fish safe paint

Any ideas?

Krylon fusion should come in every color you need and after it's 7 day dry time its fish safe.

That would work for the large pieces. Thanks a bunch!

How would i go about doing the details like the bricks? I saw in the build pics there were small tubes of acrylic paint which would be ideal but i dont know how fish safe it is. I would need a paint you can use with a small brush to do detailes. Eyes, bricks dots ect. The krylon would work great for the pipes though.

Im seriously doing this in my 55. So any advice would help. Dont know if i should start a separate thread.

I'de prolly find a clear coat thats fish safe.. then just dip everything. to do that amount of detail ect you'll need alot of different colors ect.. and for fish safe it'll prolly be way more expensive to buy the paint itself safe.. then just find a clear-coat that will coat it thats safe. just otta find one thats fish safe, and won't react with whatever paint you use.

had no clue krylon was fish safe.. always was told to paint the back of tanks with it.. not the internal glass.

I have actually thought of makin a lego aquarium use a bunch of clear ones for the "glass" and make lego plants and stuff... Never would fill it though just would be cool to do

Ok ive found my answers on how to make detailed creatures without having to paint the details. Actually if i might only need to use that many legos because im doing the under water scene so not so many bricks. With so much more of an aquatic theme to work with should be that hard.

So far im thinking

Mario in frog suit (cause who goes into this level without one :P)

Squids
Fish
Pipes
Bubbles

You could use the Fusion for the details as well: just spray it into a throw away container (lid, bowl, etc) until you have a nice little puddle to work with; then just use as a brush paint like you would any other paint.

I only suggest fusion because I know that it is fish safe (my in tank plumbing is painted with it) but I also like the idea above about finding a clear you could put over any finished product to seal the entire piece.
