Anyone remember the feeling when you were younger in the showers at the swimming pool next to a burly bloke with tattoos and a hell of a lot of chest hair... yeah i'm getting that feeling now!

A few months ago I upgraded from a 25g to an 80g (imperial) tank and was shocked when it was delivered on its own packing crate, apparently the concept of visualizing imaginary tanks is beyond me! Now seeing all of your tanks, not only do I feel inferior but both my bank manager and my floorboards are terrified!!

So far I have 5 zebra danios (2m 3f), 9 guppies (3m, 6f), 4 Microrasbora, 2 blue dwarf gourami (1m, 1f), 1 electric blue ram, 1 angel fish, 1 gibbiceps, 1 apistogramma cacatuoides, and 2 cardinal tetras. I also have three zebra snails and an unknown total of cherry shrimp.

The gibbiceps was an early buy and I'm ashamed to admit it but I took the store owners word that it only grew to 6in, still its an excuse to get a bigger tank in a couple of years time. The apisto is female the male died from hole in the head annoyingly after I spent ages crushing up pills trying to treat it, taking two other angels with it. There were 5 tetras but after taking the filter guard off to clean it I forgot it was in the bucket and flushed it, the pump ate three in one night! The cherry shrimp was almost a waste of money as since putting 15 in there i only see them once in a blue moon but its always a nice surprise so I dont mind too much.

Everyone seems healthy and if it can get pregnant it usually is so i'm taking that to be a sign I'm doing good. Usually I leave the fry in there to get eaten, its free food, circle of life and all that jazz but from the last batch of guppys I caught a few and am rearing them in a breeder net just to say that I've done it, so far i'm about 6 weeks in and they are adorable.

... I'm doing it again, my friends all moan at me when I start talking about the fish apparently I dont stop. Oh wow! Just read through and realised I missed the introduction part completely lol! I'm Pete, 23, from London and studying BA Fine Art, using my student loans to fund the hobby. Still live at home with the parents, both now refuse to sit on the sofa as its under the tank and they are worried its going to go through the floor. There are three reasons I need to move out, my sister does my head in, if someone in deepest darkest Peru decides to use a tap the shower turns to an icecube maker (most annoying for water changes) and I need more fishtanks!

Pleased to meet you all!

Welcome to mfk. Many here believe its not always about how big the tanks and fish are, but how well you keep your fish. Good luck in the hobby. OH yeah and there is no cure for MTS haha!!

MTS= Multiple Tank Syndrome welcome to MFK

Roflol! I like that. I'm considering getting a small tank so I can have a fighter, move the rasboras and tetras over and getting a couple of other fish for the main tank.
yeah, you definately have MTS.....

Congrats and welcome!!
