And it came with 2 oscars and it's 55 gallon(This is all from a random person I bought it from). I'm not amazingly fond of them but I think there kinda... Cute? But at the same time I would like to have more things in the tank so does anything go with oscars? Iirc There isn't enough space for just them. Do I have to feed them feeders? Anyway to get rid of them with out death? What does the tank need to look like? Planted? Anything I need to know?
OH and does $130 sound good for a 55 gallon, stand, lights, filter, heater, 2 oscars and a few random decorations? Would $120 make it much better priced?

2 oscars is absolute max for a 55g. if you dont want them or they look cramped return them to your local fish store, you MAY get store credit.

just post up what fish you like and you'll get advice on them.

can be planted if you want, usually best.

no, you dont have to feed them feeders, some caarry parasites, so make sure you get them from a good source if you go with them...

55 is barely large engh for 1 how is it ok for 2?

Id say ask your lfs if they will take the oscars as the tank is too small in the long run and it sounds like you dont really want them anyway then do some research of the fish on here that you like and would possibly fit in the 55g such as some small species polypterus for example but dont buy anything until you know what you are buying.

Good luck and keep us posted.

not in the majority of cases but there are some success stories... :chillpill:

OP - what are the tank dimensions?

OK (im chillin) how can you put 2 tiger oscars in a 55gal. Thats like putting 2 arpiama's in a 300 gal...

because they can go in when smaller and upgrade when they outgrow it.

i dont think he's too keen on them anyway tbh...

Standard 55 is only 12" wide. That's not enough space for a 12+ inch fish no matter what species it is. Try to find them a home or give them to a LFS, maybe the'll give you store credit. I think $130 is a good price considering everything you got. Good luck with it.

Sounds like a good price for the set-up.
Go with the great advice before me and make the tank the way you see it being.
If you keep the two in the tank...double the filters up and keep up water changes bigtime.
Just make sure you know all you can about what you are putting in there. Hindsight sucks!! Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
