Ok, so I just got a new tank...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I know a guy that shops at the same LFS who had two oscars in a 55 for 11 years. not one problem and he showed me a fts and they looked very healthy. I was thinking about doing one in a 55 because I don't have a larger tank available but I am still thinking about what to stock it with.

Thats a rare case and oscars r probly one of the messiest fish! I really dont think 2 should even be considered in anything lower than 90gallons

How big were these two adult oscars in this tank?
Im sure i could keep a few fish that i would like in my tank and they would be OK, but OK and having alot more room etc are two very different things,

As for your 55g whats the footprint?,what about some small species bichirs, but they are addictive lol

I had 3 Oscars in that size when I was very young too, but they had to angle their head up to turn around since the largest was 15" long in the 12" deep tank. not the best conditions for a fish but they lived over 11 years all together.

But you wouldnt recommend that would you scooby surely?

Steve

how tall would a 12" long oscar usually be? about 7"?

$120 would have been better :)

FREE is even better. I am going to my sisters next weekend to pick up a running 55 full of nice fish and all it will cost me is gas for a hundred mile round trip.:D
I still think 130 for a running 55 with all the goodies is a great deal, I would have bought it!:naughty:
