  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, true, but 150 is too small, and a 650 isn't big enough for more than one koi!

I saw a pic on google of a koi that was alot bigger than 4ft ill try and find the pic.
ya find it. :D

no thanx, i went to florda once and saw people wearing biger winter coats then iv ever seen up here in 50 degree weather. the word wussies came to mind, plus from what i here you have old people and they smell.:) aaaannd, you can't play winter death sports with out frozen rivers and lakes.

The wussies your refering to are some of the ones that moved down here to get away from the cold and complain about 60* now.

Winter death sports? Don't need frozen anything...we just go swimmin' with the sharks and rays...way better than freezin' something off. :D

But I do miss the snow...(from Michigan in another lifetime (back when snow was white))

I would say you could put 3+/- in it; you may need more room if they grow very well.
My pond is 10' X 5' X 32" deep, I usually have a 40' stream about 2' wide and 2" deep with maybe another 100 gals . I have 4 Koi 18" to 24" and added 3 Koi about 2" long 9months ago . The 3 little ones have grown to about a foot in less than a year; I think that is a good indication that they are not crowded. And they shared the pond with about 500 swortails.

Blacksmith, it sounds like you are at around 1600 gallons. If I were you, I would stick with those 6 koi and let them grow HUGE instead of adding more and crowding them out. Do you have a UV? If you don't, I would get one if I were you.

The corners (including the bottom) are rounded so I think 1000 g is a generous estimate.
I have moved out 500 swords ,only 50 left. I am planning to remove/sell about 3 Koi but need to find the right place to advertise them. The people in Koi clubs seem to want a sales promotion with the fish; like why it is worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. ( I don't do BS).
